Mic Gillette and his band MGB (Mic Gillette Band) have just started a Kickstarter Campaign to raise funding for their second CD “Turning Two”. To find out how you can contribute click on the following link (in red): MGB Kickstarter Campaign
About Mic and the Kickstarter Campaign:
From 1968 to1984, Mic was a founding member of the Tower of Power horn section – he was personally best known as the man who blows ‘You’re Still A Young Man’ and can play a trumpet and trombone almost simultaneously. He left the road when he and his wife had their one and only daughter. After she grew up Mic went back and did one last stint with Tower of Power in 2011, he realized his passion was making music with the people he loved and he focused his attention to The Mic Gillette Band. What a breakthrough year we’ve had! We have decided to put the cherry on top and make our next album, entitled ‘Turning Two’.
Our first CD, ‘Moon Doggy’ was released last December and was very much a homegrown effort. Everyone gave all their time and heart into getting that one done and it took a little while. This time we are looking to all you wonderful, funky cool folks to be a part of this project and get it out to be heard by this December! We are already going full steam in the studio and starting album artwork in the next couple weeks. This disc will include some fun and phat original tunes, and a few unexpected covers, done the Mic Gillette way of course.
Your generous donations will help in the following ways:
- Studio time & musicians
- Guest Artist Contributions
- Licensing
- Mastering
- Artwork/Photography
As we are new to the Kickstarter community, we will explain what we understand. It is all or nothing as far as funding goes. If we meet (hopefully exceed) our $10,000 goal then we will be funded and the project will move forward as quickly as intended. If we do not reach our goal, then no funding from Kickstarter will happen.
To help us reach our goal, share this page with family and friends that you think would be interested in our endeavor. We will keep everyone updated on our Facebook page as to how we are doing!
