Amy Lynn: “We wrote ‘Can’t Put My Finger On It’ with Alex Forbes and the idea behind it was that feeling of knowing deep down the person you love is up to no good, but you just can’t believe it or don’t want to. When we perform the song live, it’s usually with the entire Gunshow – our seven-piece band. But we were all having trouble coming up with everyone’s part, so I thought it might work if Alex, my husband and baritone sax player in the band, just started jamming. Once he started, everything else fell into place. What you hear on this recording is just Alex and I – his baritone sax and my voice. When we play live shows, we got such a killer response from the intro, which is just the two of us, we decided to record the entire song that way. We performed the song live in the studio at the end of a long recording session with our band. This was the last take of the day. No edits to either parts, just a raw flow.”
