Being on the Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns email list notifies recipients whenever Jerry Lopez and the guys are bringing in a special guest artist. So getting notified that Andreas Aleman would be the guest artist this past Monday night, I knew I had to be there.
In our rotation over the past few months, we have found Andrea’s music to be soulful, bluesy, and definitely funky. What Andreas brings to the table is a fantastic voice, sort of reminiscent of Ray Charles, and most of his songs have that kick that we enjoy, great brass riffs.
Monday night at the Palms started off as usual with Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns hitting hit on all cylinders, as this band never lets you down. After a few songs, Andreas came out and sang (and played keyboards) the rest of the evening with Santa Fe and did not let us down. Playing a mixture of soul, blues, and funk he rocked the house. The Palms was on fire and as the crowd was definitely into the music, as was the band, the smile on Jerry Lopez’s (leader of Santa Fe) told the whole story.
Get out an purchase some of Andreas’s music, you’ll be glad you did. To find out more about Andreas go to www.andreasaleman.com/.
